Vibroflotation

___

This ground improvement technique uses large vibrating needles, so-called vibroflots, to compact soil up to more than 15 metres depth. By jetting water and air through the vibroflots, and at the same time vibrate the needles, the soil becomes ‘liquid’. In this way, the needle can sink into the soil and compact it.

Technique supports the maritime activities of Jan De Nul Group

This technique is perfectly fit to compact areas which have been landfilled with sand from dredging works. Vibroflotation supports the activities of mother company Jan De Nul Group seamlessly and strengthens its position to execute complete dredging projects. We performed this technique for the first time during the building of a new ferry port in Calais.
